25c Deep purple and scarlet/ordinary paper. "OVERPINT DOUBLE" and "OVERPRINT DOUBLE, ONE ALBINO".
The UNIQUE and highly magnificent full sheet marginal block of twenty, being two complete rows of 10 (Rows 5 and 6), six stamps displaying Major Error 'Overprint Double', the remainder all showing the variety 'Overprint Double, One Albino'. Stamp R1/1 additionally showing the solitary known 'dash in eyebrow' flaw. Stamps 4-9, 14-19 also show an additional partial offset. Superb Unmounted mint with wonderfully fresh bright colours.
A TRUE 'PHILATELIC CLIMAX' OF THE REIGN OF KGVI AND BRITISH FAR EAST PHILATELIC ALIKE.
Note; Only a single sheet is known to exist with doubling of the overprint. The extent of the doubling varies across the sheet with this block showing it at its best. An illustration of the complete sheet, together with two articles, by Patrick Kearney and Andrew Norris, appeared in "The Malayan Philatelist", Volume 24, 1983, Page 67 (Kearney) and 80-81 (Norris).
