Immaculate small envelope to London (with original enclosures). Red ‘St John’s OC 14 1863’ circular datestamp alongside and black circular M/S/W (missent marking) also on the front. Bearing extremely fine four large margined 1861 6d deep rose red.

The letter was written by a Soldier and provides a vivid account of the near sinking of a ship.
